The added material is plastic coloring, this is a cause there is a very dangerous chemical when the consumption by humans.

World-Pak, div. of Inteplast Group in Lolita, Texas, introduced the world’s thickest corrugated plastic board—25 mm—at the International Builders Show in Orlando, Fla., last month. World-Pak also recently introduced 16- and 19-mm corrugated boards and says it’s the only manufacturer able to produce such boards thicker than 13 mm (U.S. Pat. Applic. 20080003870, Jan. 3, 2008). Its Intepro boards are reportedly the first PP boards ever to pass ASTM E1996 Wind Zone 4 (the highest test level) for sustained wind pressures of up to about 105 lbf/ft. They target a new market for corrugated board in shutters, signs, and hurricane-protective panels. The 25-mm boards come in sizes up to 96 x 60 in. and are extruded with a special die in a structure of parallel hollow rectangles.
